Appalachian Folklore and True Mountain Magic

Many years have passed as I watch the traditional ways of these mountains diminish.

It seems the world I am from has ceased to exist in the reality of today, and honestly it breaks my heart.

As a true Appalachian Woman, “kitchen witch" , empath, and old soul I want our traditions to live on. I need them too, I need my children to learn these things.

To experience being with family and learning from their elders as we all have, instead of staring at a a damn screen all the time.

I know we should live in the present but also do things to benefit our future selves, as well.. But it’s hard to do.

How does one let go, when the love we shared with loved ones, and the way they molded us to be the very person we are today means so much to us.

From the clever personality, honesty and sense of humor one. Maybe it’s that little mean streak some of us get from one of our kin.
